The First Meeting

The first time I met my wife (Julie), we were at a birthday party at a lake cabin. A few of us decided to see what amphibians were singing in the nearby water ditch, and had a good time.

The First Toad

Later that year, at college, I went over to the dorms of the same group of folks but stumbled upon a small American Toad. Since we didn't find one before, I picked it up and brought it with me and presented it to Julie. Apparently, a toad was a stronger impression on her than a bunch of flowers.

The Green Bus

A number of years later, we bought a school bus to convert into a RV, full of potential. When it came time to paint it, we decided on green, and thus named the bus the Toad.

Toad Town

Our property in Rhinelander had something the bus didn't: real toads. Toads are cute [to us] and they help with pest control so we provided them some nice habitat in the garden. A town of toads would be great for the garden!

Toad Town Services

When it came time to name the business, it wasn't much of a debate. Toad Town Services is a continuation of the same thread — something personal, a little unexpected, and easy to remember.
